You can complete your Matric Online!

Whether you did not pass your Matric year or never had the opportunity to complete it, you can still get your Matric Certificate at a later stage in life by completing an Adult Matric course. This award is known as an Amended Senior Certificate.

What Does Amended Senior Certificate Mean?

An Amended Senior Certificate is an award that is identical to the standard National Senior Certificate. It allows students who have been out of school for some time to get their matric certificate.

Can I Complete My Matric Online?

You can complete an Adult Matric course through a Distance Learning college such as Bellview Institute of Distance Learning. This will allow you to study online, hand in assignments virtually, and create your own study schedule. You simply need to write your final matric exam at your allocated exam venue.

Bellview’s Accreditation For Adult Matric

The Adult Matric – Amended Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) has the following SAQA ID number: 49647. Bellview Institute of Distance Learning is registered by the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers for the QCTO.

The certificate is accredited by Umalusi and as an educational institution, Bellview Institute of Distance Learning does not need to undergo an accreditation process.

What Do I Need To Study An Adult Matric?

If you want to study Adult Matric, you will need the following:

  • A matric status that is incomplete
  • A grade 9 (or equivalent) certificate

You must be at least 21 years old when you write your final exams, although you can start the course when you are 19 years old.

How Long Does The Course Take?

The Adult Matric course can be completed in:

  • 12 months
  • 24 months
  • 36 months

It is recommended that you complete this course over a time span of 12 to 24 months. The course covers subject material of grade 10 to grade 12, so the time you spend completing your Adult Matric course depends on how long you take to get through the course material.

Do Universities Accept An Amended Senior Certificate?

Yes, they do. You will however need to meet all of their entry requirements including having a Bachelor’s Degree Matric Pass.

Having an Amended Senior Certificate or a traditional Senior Certificate will not ensure university acceptance. Each university has a list of entry requirements that are specific to each course.

What should I do after Matric?

After you have completed your Matric, you have a wide range of things you can do.

You can consider doing a  National Diploma course, which you’ll often find labeled as a NATED course. You can consider applying to a university. Some people also find jobs after Matric. Once you have your Matric Certificate your options of employment and higher education increase tremendously
